Tired of setting goals but not achieving them? I get it. We’ve all been there, we’ve set a goal and then felt disappointed when it didn’t work out. We may have even been put off setting another one and now believe that we are incapable of achieving goals.
If you’ve been in this position, don’t worry this doesn’t mean that you are failing, it just means there are some things to work on.
Here are 3 reasons your goals aren’t working
- They are not challenging you
Your goals need to challenge you. You need to work towards them. If they were easy and something you already had, then they wouldn’t be goals
2. They aren’t attainable
Now I like to say that we can do anything we set our mind to which is true but there are also limitations. For example, I might want to be a rocket scientist but without having a strong grasp of advanced maths, it probably won’t happen. You need to make sure that your goals are attainable, realistic and have specifics. Let’s say you want to earn a degree, you need to be clear on what that degree is.
3. The words you are using to describe yourself are negative
Negative self-descriptions can contribute to self-doubt, anxiety and limiting beliefs that hinder our personal development and our ability to reach our fullest potential. Our words control our attention and our emotions and thus can impact our goals and what we want to achieve in life.
I want to help you get crystal clear about your goals and set about for success.
