  • Let’s talk about ghosting! ⁣👻
⁣
It is the season for all things ghost but let’s remember⁣
✅to spooky ghosts⁣
❌to ghosting behaviour⁣
⁣
Have you ever experienced the sudden disappearance of someone you thought you had a connection with? That’s what we call 𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨. It leaves many feeling confused, hurt and frustrated. ⁣
⁣
👻What is ghosting? ⁣
Ghosting refers to the act of abruptly cutting off all communication with someone without any explanation or closure. It can happen in various relationships, be it romantic, friendship, or even professional connections. The ghoster simply vanishes, leaving the other person wondering what went wrong and why.⁣
⁣
👻Why do people ghost? ⁣
Ghosting can happen for a multitude of reasons and it’s essential to remember that everyone’s situation is unique. ⁣
⁣
Some people may ghost because they struggle with confrontation or fear of hurting others. ⁣
⁣
Others may have lost interest or found themselves overwhelmed with personal challenges.

While the reasons behind it can be complex, it’s important to acknowledge that 𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩.⁣
⁣
👻How does it feel to be ghosted? ⁣
Being ghosted can be a 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘶𝘭 experience. It can leave you with a sense of rejection, self-doubt and unanswered questions. You may find yourself wondering what you did wrong or what you could have done differently. ⁣
⁣
Remember though, that being ghosted says more about the ghoster’s inability to communicate than it does about your value as an individual.⁣
⁣
While ghosting can be hurtful, it’s essential to focus on your own well-being and emotional healing. ⁣

OCD stands for Obsessive - Compulsive Disorder and is a condition where a person experiences unwanted and intrusive thoughts. These thoughts can be very frightening and don’t just filter through our minds, they stick.

To cope, a person carries out certain acts or rituals which are known as compulsions. These vary from person to person but can involve checking doors are locked to pulling hair out. These compulsions only provide short-term relief.

Something that really annoys me is the portrayal of OCD in the media. We’re told it is someone wanting their space to be neat and tidy or being fussy. There’s no such thing as a little bit OCD. The language we use matters so let’s make sure that we’re using words and terms with awareness.

If you have OCD, you’re not alone.

  • Here are three things that will make your day a little bit better:

1. Do not check your phone as soon as you wake up.

2. If you can, move your body before you do any other activity, even better if it is in the sunlight.

3. Limit your news intake.

I hope these tips help.
