⁣
Whether you’re a fan of it or not, AI is becoming more embedded in our lives. For the record, I don’t use AI in my business (nor any other aspect of my life). ⁣
⁣
AI can never replicate therapy.⁣
⁣
Here are some of the reasons:⁣
⁣
𝟑 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬⁣
⁣There are 3 core principles that many of us therapists follow as put forward by Carl Rogers: 𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘺, 𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘥 and 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦. This essentially means that as your therapist, I do not judge you, I see your authentic self and I view you in the best light and I am sincere and genuine with you. This is something a machine or program cannot do.⁣
⁣
𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐠’𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰⁣
⁣Carl Jung believed that a transformative process takes place in therapy between both the therapist and client, almost like alchemy. I truly believe in this transformation and I have learned so much and changed from my client interactions. I am inspired by my clients. That connection and bond is not possible with a programmed chatbot.⁣
⁣
𝐀𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤⁣
⁣We have all seen an increase in “therapy talk” and how it can often be harmful and in some cases weaponised. Words like 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘵𝘰𝘹𝘪𝘤, 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 can be used incorrectly to manipulate and gaslight (to use another often misused term). AI interactions produce an abundance of these words.⁣
⁣
𝐂𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 ⁣
⁣A machine doesn’t know you. It can’t sense the subtle changes in your tone. It doesn’t notice when you look lighter from your troubles or when your posture is showing your pain. It can’t celebrate your wins and be your cheerleader.⁣
⁣
𝐀 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞⁣
I truly care about my clients. I think about them long after we have finished working together. I remember birthdays or painful anniversaries. AI does not care; it is not capable of caring.⁣
⁣
I am with you on your journey. I am not a feeling-less robot incapable of emotions. AI could never do any of this; AI is not your therapist.
  • Taking care of yourself when the world is a sh*tshow.

Yes, I said it, I used the word sh**tshow. It seemed the most appropriate term.

So why are we collectively feeling this way?

Many of us are grieving how we thought the world operated.

We are grieving for people we’ve never met as we watch their lives be taken or destroyed.

We are in shock, disbelief & fear.

We are fed up of fake stories & misinformation shaping society.

We are in fear for our home & worrying about climate disaster.

We are distraught at the suffering taking place in front of us.

Many of us are feeling guilty, thinking we’re not doing enough which is coupled with anger at our leaders.

All of this is valid & I’m feeling all of it too. But it gets overwhelming, doesn’t it?

Maybe you often find yourself crying or suffering from anxiety. Maybe you feel you’re becoming depressed & that you can’t find joy in things anymore.

So what can we do? Well, I wish I had a definitive answer that could fix all of it but I don’t. I can, however, offer you some tips to help your wellbeing:

1.Limit media consumption:I know it’s important to stay informed, but constant exposure to news can be overwhelming. Take breaks when needed.

2.Social media:You really need to limit your consumption. I know it is easy to get sucked into doom scrolling but it will not help the situation & will only make you feel worse.

3.Stay connected:Sharing your feelings with friends or family or indeed engaging with like-minded activists, advocates or community groups can help.

4.Focus on what you can control:I know this one is easier said than done but while you can’t control the world, you can try to control your actions & responses. Focus on what you can do.

5.Engage in self-care:Try to make time for activities that bring you joy & relaxation.

6.Talk to a professional: It doesn’t have to be me but share your feelings with a professional, particularly if they are overwhelming.

Your feelings are valid & life is tough right now.

Take of yourself because you matter.

  • As we approach the new year, you are about to be bombarded with ads telling you why you need to spend your hard money on their products to be better, richer, thinner, more productive etc.

Try to block all of it out and don’t let capitalists make money off your insecurities.

Only make changes if you want to do something for you.

You’re great as you are.

  • As we approach the end 2025, here are some things we can leave behind:⁣
⁣
🗑️Inner critic / bully
🗑Making ourselves smaller
🗑Letting others decide our worth
🗑️Saying yes when we mean no

  • I’m a psychotherapist and here’s what I want you to know

💜 Nobody has it all together. Nobody!

💜 Social media isn’t real life. It’s full of show reels and none of the bloopers.

💜 Grief comes in many forms. We don’t just grieve the death of humans. We grieve the loss of our animals, friendship and romantic relationship breakups, pain and suffering in the world, work endings etc.

💜 You’re never too old. Timelines of where you should be or what you should have achieved aren’t real.

💜 Families are often complicated. Perfect ones rarely exist.

💜 Trauma can show up in lots of different ways.

💜 You’re not too sensitive and emotions are not a weakness.

You can book a free consultation with me from the link in my bio.

  • Let’s talk about ghosting! ⁣👻
⁣
It is the season for all things ghost but let’s remember⁣
✅to spooky ghosts⁣
❌to ghosting behaviour⁣
⁣
Have you ever experienced the sudden disappearance of someone you thought you had a connection with? That’s what we call 𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨. It’s a phenomenon that has become all too common in today’s digital age, leaving many feeling confused, hurt and frustrated. ⁣
⁣
👻What is ghosting? ⁣
Ghosting refers to the act of abruptly cutting off all communication with someone without any explanation or closure. It can happen in various relationships, be it romantic, friendship, or even professional connections. The ghoster simply vanishes, leaving the other person wondering what went wrong and why.⁣
⁣
👻Why do people ghost? ⁣
Ghosting can happen for a multitude of reasons, and it’s essential to remember that everyone’s situation is unique. ⁣
⁣
Some people may ghost because they struggle with confrontation or fear of hurting others. ⁣
⁣
Others may have lost interest or found themselves overwhelmed with personal challenges.

While the reasons behind it can be complex, it’s important to acknowledge that 𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩.⁣
⁣
👻How does it feel to be ghosted? ⁣
Being ghosted can be a 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘶𝘭 experience. It can leave you with a sense of rejection, self-doubt and unanswered questions. You may find yourself wondering what you did wrong or what you could have done differently. ⁣
⁣
Remember though, that being ghosted says more about the ghoster’s inability to communicate than it does about your value as an individual.⁣
⁣
While ghosting can be hurtful, it’s essential to focus on your own well-being and emotional healing. ⁣

Whether you’re a fan of it or not, AI is becoming more embedded in our lives. For the record, I don’t use AI in my business (nor any other aspect of my life). ⁣
⁣
AI can never replicate therapy.⁣
⁣
Here are some of the reasons:⁣

Taking care of yourself when the world is a sh*tshow.

Taking care of yourself when the world is a sh*tshow.

As we approach the new year, you are about to be bombarded with ads telling you why you need to spend your hard money on their products to be better, richer, thinner, more productive etc. Try to block all of it out and don’t let capitalists make money off your insecurities. Only make changes if you want to do something for you. You’re great as you are. #psychotherapist #healing #counselling

As we approach the end 2025, here are some things we can leave behind:⁣
⁣
🗑️Inner critic / bully
🗑Making ourselves smaller
🗑Letting others decide our worth
🗑️Saying yes when we mean no
⁣
I want you to feel 𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 in 2026 and I want you to know that 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠.⁣
⁣
If this is the year you start therapy, I would love to work with you. You can book a FREE consultation via the link in my bio.

I’m a psychotherapist and here’s what I want you to know

Let’s talk about ghosting! ⁣👻

⁣
You can book a free consultation with me from the link in my bio.
